To keep ads performing better and better, Facebook Ads regularly rolls out new optimizations. One of the latest is still widely underused and could easily become a best practice for e-commerce brands: the "hooks" feature.
In practical terms, the Facebook Ads hook feature is similar to Google Ads callout extensions. It lets you improve the visibility of key information about your business. At a glance, users can understand the added value of your services â such as your shipping or payment policy. Meta strongly recommends including this type of information to create high-performing ads. Hooks make that easier and more visible.

There are currently 3 types of hooks:
- Free shipping
This first hook type lets you highlight that your shipping is free. You can even set a minimum spend threshold or a specific shipping window to qualify for free delivery.

- Payment option
This hook briefly showcases the different payment methods you accept. You can check several or highlight just one to draw attention to that particular option.

- Return policy
This last hook displays your return conditions. You can specify whether returns are free and set the maximum return window after purchase.

All hooks benefit from the power of the algorithm, since hooks are automatically generated and adapted based on the information you provide.
As of today, hooks are only available in the Facebook News Feed on mobile devices. That said, it is very likely that this feature will expand to other placements in the coming months. Note that not all accounts are eligible yet. If your account has access, you will find the feature during ad creation, just above the Call-to-Action selection.

To sum up, hooks on Facebook Ads are a new, optional feature designed to highlight key information about your business. Currently available in the Facebook News Feed, they should roll out to other placements soon. Still widely underused, we strongly recommend using them if you have access, to help you stand out from the competition.
